I never pictured myself as an artist, so to speak. But I've always had a passion for history and photography. However, I was never fully satisfied with either, until for history, I discovered Anthropology and cultural history with a focus on religious symbols – and for photography, I discovered the digital camera and Photoshop. I’m living proof for the hidden artist in all of us; some of us are just waiting for our medium to come along. My medium came with the digital camera and Photoshop. I stumbled across this idea over ten years ago but, it did not really take off until 2004 when I leapt into the digital realm with the purchase of my first digital camera, the Minolta Dimage S414.
Since I've embarked on my mandala journey I've really develped not only my photography skills, but also my own personal drawing skills. The Digital Mandalas available on the Available Art page in this website are completely digital. Meaning they originated from a digital photograph and are everyday, recognizable images transformed into something very different while maintaining the essence of the original image.
In 2009 I went on a meditation retreat to get in touch with attempting to draw my own mandala images. The result from attending this workshop over the last year includes facilitating my own workshops to help others connect with their own personal mandalas while at the same time improving my own basic drawing skills. You can see some of what I've drawn on the Home Page of this website. Please enjoy.
There is such a rich history within the world of Mandalas and creating mandalas and the symbolism that they represent can be very powerful on an individual level, spiritual level, and societal level. Mandalas can be used as a tool for healing just about whatever ails you on a daily business, from seemingly innocuous ailments to serious diseases such as cancer, HIV, and depression.
For more information about how mandalas might be able to help you, please feel free to contact at your convenience. I look forward to hearing from, and helping you.
In Peace
